Remnants in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is a game feature that will be added to the Sekiro Free Update on October 29, 2020. Remnants allow the player to register a 30-second recording of their gameplay and a message which can be accessed by other players. This can be a recording of a technique on how to take down an enemy or boss, as well as a movement demonstration that involves platforming or how to reach certain difficult areas in the game. This page covers information regarding this game mechanic.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Remnants
Creating a Remnant
Shinobi can leave behind shadows of their past actions, known as "Remnants" Remnants are left to discipline one's peers. Some are masters of the way ahead, others provoke sporting rivalries. Leaving a remnant requires a network connection since this is an online feature.
Players can register (up to 4 at the same time) of a 30-second recording of their gameplay and a message which can be accessed by other players. This can be a recording of a technique on how to take down an enemy or boss, as well as a movement demonstration that involves platforming or how to reach certain difficult areas in the game.
Simply press the designated button of your controller, for the PS4 it's the touchpad to pull up the Remnants menu. Here, you can see the recorded remnants you've done and create new ones. You can also add a message for the player to view before you start recording your remnant.
Activating a Remnant
Remnants are found all over various Locations in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. You can identify a remnant when you see a pink light that's glowing on the ground. To activate this, walk up to it and press the Down button on the D-pad of your controller.
Upon activating it, the Remnant will start to play. Players who view remnants and rates it will cause the HP of the owner to replenish at any given time without the use of recovery items such as the Healing Gourd or resting at a Sculptor's Idol
I hate when accidently pressing remnant menu in a bossfight
I don't understand how these distract people, I can barley notice them in bossfights
Why are people hating so much on these? I love them.
This is quite possibly the dumbest idea in gaming history.
What happens if a remnant is scorned vs. if the remnant is praised?
I activate the remnant but nothing plays.
So I can't leave a message without a remnant? That's tedious.
To turn off remnants, go to: Options, Network settings, and set launch settings to Offline Mode.
Ugly, distracting, and unnecessary.
How to turn it off?
So, the remnants aren't showing up anymore. At first, when I started the game yesterday, there were tons, and I even recorded a few myself. But now, today, I can't see any, including mine. I can't even go to the remnant menu, it just says it's not available. I have it on online mode. Is it a bug or something?
How about how to turn off the remnant? They are showing up all the hidden enemies and stuff that makes the game fun to discover on your own..
