Sekiro Patch 1.05

  • Platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC
  • Release Date: October 29, 2020.

Outfits

  • A new feature that will be added to the upcoming update is the addition of Outfits and the ability to be able to change Sekiro's physical appearance. Changing Sekiro's outfit can be done by using the Sculptor's Idol. There are three outfits that will be added which include the "Tengu" outfit, the "Old Ashina Shinobi" outfit, and another which is currently unknown.

Reflections & Gauntlets

  • Two new modes will be added such as the Reflections and Gauntlets of Strength.
  • Reflections of Strength is a game mode that allows players to challenge any boss for a re-match that has been previously defeated by the player. The Wolf can reflect on these memories and re-run the battle of the selected boss, this allows the player to better understand the boss, to learn its movements, and to come up with various ways to achieve victory.
  • Gauntlets of Strength are single-life challenges where players are thrown into a series of battles against various enemies. This is a challenge where players must start a gauntlet and complete it in order to obtain unique rewards such as the new outfits. However, partaking in a gauntlet won't be easy, if by any chance, the player dies at any point in the level of the gauntlet, they will have to start from the beginning.

Remnants

  • Remnants allow the player to register a 30-second recording of their gameplay and a message which can be accessed by other players. This can be a recording of a technique on how to take down an enemy or boss, as well as a movement demonstration that involves platforming or how to reach certain difficult areas in the game. Leaving a Remnant can be used after completing the game's tutorial. Players can record up to 30-seconds of their gameplay and leave a message for other players to read. Once another player activates a remnant and rates it, the owner will be able to recover their HP freely without the use of any consumable items or using the Sculptor's Idol.

Did the game get easier? I wasnt able to finish it 3 years ago, ng+ monkey wiped me. 3 years later without any training I speedrun through the game, got holy isshin in 90 minutes. Was he or anything else nerfed? I remember the game being insanely hard

      • Anonymous

genichiro got WAY harder with 1.06, easily takes triple the amount of depleting his health bar; bless the newbies who got there late

I played the game before the patches and left off at max vitality, and 70 damage. This game in my opinion should be hard. It should make you want to grind, and spend the time progressing Wolf. I just jumped back on recently and noticed the patches in game play. I like fighting the bosses head up and these patches in my opion were PERFECT!!!!!!!!

          • Anonymous

Heavy button lag with the newer updates up to 5 seconds and sometimes doubles up button pressing making a game about timing impossible to enjoy.

I understand why they did it and I am fine with the corrupted monk fight being patched, but I wish they still let us get a single stealth strike on O'rin because I feel that, that fight is still challenging enough even with half the health

Always pathches spoil more than fix. I hears that before whole patch fixes you can beat some bosses with cheese. After those, not anymore.

some of the idols are glitched now, after this patch you cannot travel to some previously unlocked locations

Am I crazy, or did Kingfisher's gender change in the text with a recent patch? I thought it seemed weird seeing references to "her" when I picked the game up after a week or so, but I'm extra suspicious after the English voice (switched in NG+) said "him" while the subs said "her" after giving Sculptor the Monkey Booze.

So, this patch made a lot of things a lot better to use. Spiral Cloud Passage went from being a joke to being amazing. Lazulite Sacred Flame with Living Force is now really, really good (not to mention the buff lasts longer) and depending on the scenario can be better to use than Divine Confetti. Dragon Flash and Mortal Draw were both already good skills, now they've become even better. Definitely a great patch.

Wow. "We want to give players options to think on their on". *patch releases*. Players are no longer rewarded for thinking on their own to stealth kill a boss lol

                        • Anonymous

Could not land the first stealth blow on corrupted monk after this patch, even with Gachiin sugar. Anyone else experience this?

                          • Anonymous

A few changes that I noticed: - Spiral Cloud Passage now costs only 3 SE total. Not sure if they buffed it's damage or something, need to confirm. - The Spiritfall items now last a lot longer and some SE costs changed as well. - Lazulite Sacred Flame's buff from Living Force now lasts a lot longer.

                            • After this update, I was unable to force backstab on O'Rin by jumping on her head. There was an animation of drawing the sword through O'Rin, but I did not have a red marker. Anyone can additionally verify this?

                              • Anonymous

Yes!. Only gripe with the game for me was that some of the coolest combat arts consumed too much emblems considering how much they dealt damage.

                                • Anonymous

wish they'd make an update to change up the combat arts, currently only high monk, ichimonji double (way too strong), shadow rush and whirlwind slash are used. some of the combat arts are just plain useless, like at least give them a situational advantage!
