Shelter Stone (お宿り石, Oyadoriishi - Honorable Abiding Stone) is a Key Item in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. It is used as an incense ingredient sought by the Divine Heir for Immortal Severance.
Shelter Stone Usage
- Incense ingredient sought by the Divine Heir for Immortal Severance.
How to Find Shelter Stone
- Mibu Village - Found in the Wedding Cave after defeating the (Fake) Corrupted Monk.
Shelter Stone Notes & Tips
- If you've already acquired the Lotus of the Palace Key Item from the cave behind the Guardian Ape encounter, picking up the Shelter Stone will initiate a change in the game's world state. Ashina Castle will be overrun by Interior Ministry forces, removing all of Ashina Castle's idols from your travel menu, save for the Abandoned Dungeon Entrance idol. You must re-acquire these idols by returning to Ashina Castle via that idol, and retracing your steps through the area.
- The "abiding" part of the Shelter Stone's original name, 宿り yadori, has certain negative connotations, suggesting an unwelcome or parasitic presence. The fact that the stones apparently "appear in the bodies" of people and that the one encountered in the game resembles a calcium oxalate kidney stone contribute to that image.

I had issues with Kuro telling me to go get this stone despite me already having it. It was the final step needed for the incense yet somehow it didn't register me having it. I had to give him the rice from the divine child, eat the rice ball in front of him and exhaust the dialogue for him to finally register that I had the stone.
