If you don't care about scales or random loot, there are 2 prayer beads available at the moment of acquisition. 1st is alittle ahead of the mibu village idol in the Big Lake in a chest on the ground. 2nd is Senpou right after temple grounds idol, just jump down into the small pond where 2 Carps spawn go down a hole and it's presented by a statue.

I can’t believe From managed to make underwater traversal easy AND fun. I almost wish there were more big lakes to explore besides Fountainhead Palace, but then you know IGN would have a fit.
